La “Petit Dakar”  vuole far rivivere quell’esperienza di gioia e magia che caratterizzò le mitiche “Dakar” degli albori, prima dell’avvento in massa di sponsor e circo mediatico che la hanno stravolta  … The “Petit Dakar” seeks to recreate the joy and magic of the early “Dakar” rallies before mass sponsorship and media spectacle transformed them …

Lo spirito è pionieristico e bohemien, sensibile e allegro, aperto alla avventura e pronto ai necessari adattamenti; andremo alla scoperta dell’ultimo angolo di Marocco sfuggito alla banalizzazione del progresso e del turismo di massa.  La Valle del Draa, stretta fra le montagne dell’Atlante e le dune del Sahara, conserva quel carattere arcaico e sahariano che profuma di un irresistibile romanticismo i suoi meravigliosi paesaggi, dalle vette di montagne innevate ai deserti di roccia e di sabbia, dalle smisurate spiagge oceaniche a canyon di arenaria mozzafiato, dagli antichi Ksar ai vivacissimi souk.
The spirit is pioneering and bohemian, sensitive and cheerful, open to adventure and ready for necessary adaptations. We will explore the last corner of Morocco that has escaped the trappings of modernity and mass tourism. The Draa Valley, nestled between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara dunes, preserves an archaic and Saharan character that lends an irresistible romanticism to its stunning landscapes—from snow-capped peaks and rocky deserts to vast ocean beaches, breathtaking sandstone canyons, ancient ksars, and lively souks.

Il tour è aperto sia a 2 che a 4 ruote, con la possibilità di noleggio in loco (alcuni posti disponibili sulle jeep della Organizzazione); il percorso principale è su asfalto, quindi adatto ad ogni genere di veicolo; i mezzi tuttoterreno, volendo, potranno cimentarsi su favolose piste.
The tour is open to both two- and four-wheel vehicles, with rental options available on-site (limited spots available in the Organization’s jeeps). The main route is on asphalt, making it suitable for all types of vehicles; off-road vehicles, if desired, can tackle fantastic trails.

Day ZERO
31 dicembre: accoglienza a Marrakech, cenone insieme sulla mitica Piazza Jema El Fnaa, brindisi al nuovo anno, e poi di corsa a nanna perchè domani … 🙂December 31st: Welcome to Marrakech! We’ll share a festive New Year’s Eve dinner together on the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, toast to the new year, and then off to bed because tomorrow… 🙂

Day 1
1 gennaio: appuntamento all’alba, si riempiono pance e serbatoi, e alle 08,00 in punto si parte per una prima entusiasmante tappa Marathon verso sud a scavalcare i Monti dell’Atlante attraverso uno dei passi più spettacolari, il Tizi n’Test, capolavoro dell’ingegneria francese degli anni venti; arrivati all’antica Taroundant, parte una strada di oltre 100 chilometri di curve che sembrano pennellate appositamente per l’apice del godimento di guida, immerse in un paesaggio che già vi ubriacherà per la sua selvaggia bellezza. Pernottamento a Tafraoute – circa 350 km.
January 1st: meet at dawn—fill your bellies and fuel tanks—and at exactly 8:00 AM, we set off for an exciting first marathon stage heading south, crossing the Atlas Mountains via one of the most spectacular passes: Tizi n’Test, a masterpiece of French engineering from the 1920s. Upon reaching ancient Taroudant, we embark on a road with over 100 kilometers of curves seemingly painted for the ultimate riding pleasure, surrounded by a landscape that will intoxicate you with its wild beauty. Overnight stay in Tafraoute—approximately 350 km.

Day 2
2 gennaio: passando dalla splendida Tiznit, la “Città dell’argento”, famosa per il suo artigianato berbero, ci concediamo un tuffo nell’Oceano in uno dei tratti più spettacolari della costa del Marocco, con spiagge mozzafiato fra Mirleft e Legzira. Arrivo e pernottamento a Guelmin, la “Porta del Deserto” – circa 250 km.
January 2nd: Passing through stunning Tiznit, the “City of Silver,” famous for its Berber craftsmanship, we take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean along one of Morocco’s most spectacular coastal stretches, featuring breathtaking beaches between Mirleft and Legzira. Arrival and overnight stay in Guelmin, the “Gateway to the Desert”—approximately 250 km.

Day 3
3 gennaio: abbiamo varcato la “Porta del Deserto”, ed effettivamente intorno a noi il paesaggio si fa sempre più arido; arriviamo a fine tappa, in località Icht, a metà giornata, perchè per chi lo vorrà nel pomeriggio faremo il primo entusiasmante (e faticoso!) assaggio di piste e di dune, su tracciati che hanno visto sfrecciare parecchie “Parigi-Dakar” – circa 150 km + escursione in fuoristrada (facoltativa).
January 3rd: We have crossed the “Gateway to the Desert,” and the landscape around us becomes increasingly arid. We arrive in Icht by midday, where those who wish can embark on the first thrilling (and challenging!) off-road excursion in the afternoon, along tracks once raced by the legendary “Paris-Dakar” rally—approximately 150 km + optional off-road excursion.

Day 4
4 gennaio: proseguiamo da est a ovest la valle del Draa,  stretti fra le ultime pendici dell’Atlantealla nostra sinistra e alla nostra destra il Sahara che ogni tanto fa capolino, attraversando città che solo il nome fa sognare: Acca, Imitek, Tata. Chi fa fuoristrada, comincerà a misurarsi su piste via via più lunghe e impegnative, perchè domani ci sono decisioni campali da prendere … Pernottamento a Foum Zguid – circa 300 km.
January 4th: We continue east to west along the Draa Valley, squeezed between the last foothills of the Atlas Mountains on our left and the Sahara peeking out on our right. We pass through towns whose names alone evoke dreams: Acca, Imitek, Tata. Off-road enthusiasts will begin tackling increasingly longer and more demanding trails because tomorrow will be decision day… Overnight stay in Foum Zguid—approximately 300 km.

Day 5
5 gennaio: oggi è il grande giorno, ci tuffiamo nel Sahara, quello vero, non si scherza!  Chi fa fuoristrada partirà alle prime luci dell’alba, dopo aver fatto il pieno di benzina e di acqua; li aspettano oltre 200 km, di cui circa 150 di pista: pietre, sabbia, fetch fetch, brevi tratti battuti in cui riprendere fiato. Il resto del gruppo correrà sulla strada asfaltata, che corre parallela a una trentina di chilometri in linea d’aria a nord – appuntamento al tramonto all’uscita della pista, tra Tagounite e Mhamid, dove anche i più cauti fra gli “stradali” potranno avventurarsi a masticare un po’ di pista e di sabbia! Arrivo e pernottamento a Zagora, da qui in 52 giorni a dorso di cammello si arrivava a Tomboctou, lungo una delle principali rotte transhariane, come ci ricorda il murales all’ingresso dell’abitato – circa 250 km.
January 5th: Today is the big day—we dive into the real Sahara, no jokes! Off-road riders will depart at dawn after refueling with gas and water, facing over 200 km, about 150 of which are on tracks: rocks, sand, fesh-fesh, and brief solid stretches to catch their breath. The rest of the group will follow the paved road running about 30 km north in a straight line—rendezvous at sunset at the track’s exit between Tagounite and Mhamid, where even the most cautious road riders can taste a bit of sand and off-road fun! Arrival and overnight stay in Zagora, the legendary caravan town from where, in 52 days by camel, you could reach Timbuktu along one of the main trans-Saharan routes, as a mural at the town entrance reminds us—approximately 250 km.

Day 6
6 gennaio: OK, è ora di iniziare la risalita, ma ne vedremo ancora delle belle, eccome! Prima tappa a Ouarzazate, la Hollywod africana, con visita simpaticissima agli Studios dove sono state girate scene memorabili di film come “Lawrence d’Arabia” e “Il Gladiatore”. Ma la chicca è nel pomeriggio, la visita allo ksar (villaggio fortificato) di Aït Benhaddou, un monumento vivente e strepitoso patrimonio dell’umanità “UNESCO”! Pernottamento a Aït Benhaddou – circa 200 km.
January 6th: OK, it’s time to head back north, but the adventure isn’t over yet! Our first stop is Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where we’ll enjoy a fun visit to the famous studios where iconic scenes from films like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator” were shot. The real treat, though, comes in the afternoon with a visit to the ksar (fortified village) of Aït Benhaddou, a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site! Overnight stay in Aït Benhaddou—approximately 200 km.

Day 7, 7 gennaio: il rientro a Marrakech è maestoso, attraverso il più famoso dei passi del Marocco, il mitico Tizi n’Tichka. E poi appuntamento, esausti e elettrizzati, di nuovo in Piazza Jema El Fnaa, per l’ultima cena conviviale di questa indimenticabile avventura!
January 7th: Our return to Marrakech is majestic, crossing the most famous pass in Morocco, the legendary Tizi n’Tichka. Finally, we reunite, exhausted yet exhilarated, back in Jemaa el-Fnaa square for the farewell dinner of this unforgettable adventure!

Le iscrizioni apriranno in occasione di “Polvere&Gloria – sulle strade dell’Eroica in Moto“, la versione italiana della “Petit Dakar”: appuntamento a Gaiole in Chianti dal 16 al 18 Maggio.
Registration will open during “Polvere&Gloria – on the roads of the Eroica on a motorcycle” the Italian version of the “Petit Dakar,” held in Gaiole in Chianti from May 16 to 18.

Il versamento della quota di partecipazione è così articolato / The payment of the participation fee is structured as follows:

  • Euro 500,00 a titolo di acconto all’atto della iscrizione, da versare al Tour Operator per i servizi turistici previsti nel programma e per la Assicurazione /  as a deposit upon registration, to be paid to the Tour Operator for the travel services included in the program and for insurance coverage;
  • Euro 490,00 entro il 30/10/2025 a saldo , da versare a Tamoè ETS per i materiali, l’assistenza e il coordinamento così come previsto nel programma / by October 30, 2025, as the final balance, to be paid to Tamoè ETS for materials, assistance, and coordination as outlined in the program.

REGOLAMENTO / RULES

Premesso che la “Petit Dakar”:

– è una manifestazione assolutamente non competitiva, e anzi è una esperienza basata sullo spirito di squadra e sulla solidarietà ed empatia fra i partecipanti e i nostri ospiti,

– la “gara” (oltre a quella -non misurabile- a chi si emoziona di più, si diverte di più, porta a casa un tesoro più bello di ricordi …) è appunto una gara di generosità!

Considering that the “Petit Dakar”:

– is an entirely non-competitive event; rather, it is an experience built on teamwork, solidarity, and empathy among participants and our hosts.

– the “race” (aside from the immeasurable one—to see who has the most fun, and brings home the richest treasure of memories…) is, in fact, a generosity challenge!

La logica di questa “gara di generosità” è quindi quella di stimolare il massimo della raccolta di risorse, non in una ottica di mero assistenzialismo, bensì di conoscenza ai diversi stili di vita. Il seguente Regolamento, certamente con difetti e limiti considerato la sua forte originalità e sperimentalità, punta proprio a cogliere tali obiettivi premiando la massima sensibilizzazione.

The purpose of this “generosity challenge” is to encourage the maximum collection of resources, not as mere charity but as an opportunity to gain insight into different ways of life. These RULES, with all its experimental and innovative aspects, aim to promote awareness and engagement.

Tutte le risorse così raccolte andranno a finanziare un progetto di cooperazione allo sviluppo destinato alle fasce giovanili, coordinato da “Bambini nel Deserto“, che verrà puntualmente e pubblicamente rendicontato.
All the resources collected in this way will go toward funding a development cooperation project aimed at young people, coordinated by “Bambini nel Deserto“, and will be fully and publicly accounted for.

IL PERCORSO: 100% Stradale / THE ROUTE: 100% On-Road 

Il percorso “di base” della Petit Dakar è al 100% su strade asfaltate. In Marocco, e soprattutto nelle regioni più remote come quella che viaggeremo noi, il concetto di “strada asfaltata” può imprevedibilmente variare da quello di un fondo da far invidia a un circuito da Gran Premio ad una carrabile che va a sostituire una strada travolta da uno uadi in piena o da una frana, comunque sempre percorribile in piena sicurezza e divertimento da un guidatore normale su un veicolo normale, a 2 o a 4 ruote – sono i percorsi su cui si muovono quotidianamente i nostri ospiti marocchini e berberi d’altronde!

The “base” route of the Petit Dakar is 100% on paved roads. In Morocco, especially in the more remote regions we will be traveling through, the concept of a “paved road” can vary unpredictably—from a surface that could rival a Grand Prix circuit to a dirt track replacing a road swept away by a flash flood or a landslide. However, these roads are always safe and enjoyable for an average driver on a regular two- or four-wheel vehicle—they are the same routes our Moroccan and Berber hosts use every day!

Percorso OnOff / OnOff Route

Per chi dispone di un veicolo tuttoterreno, a 2 o 4 ruote, si apre la possibilità di integrare il “percorso base” con alcune deviazioni in fuoristrada; le prime saranno semplici e brevi, in modo da dare a tutti modo di familiarizzare gradualmente con il diverso contesto e mettere a fuoco le proprie potenzialità con i piedi nella sabbia, e poi andranno a farsi sempre più lunghe ed impegnative, fino all’apoteosi della tappa del Day 5: oltre 200 km, di cui circa 150 di pista: pietre, sabbia, fetch fetch, brevi tratti battuti in cui riprendere fiato. Si partirà alle prime luci dell’alba, dopo aver fatto il pieno di benzina e di acqua per arrivare con le ultime luci del tramonto, esausti ma entusiasti per una esperienza motociclistica e umana che rimarrà incancellabile nell’album dei ricordi! Questa tappa sarà fattibile solo da chi nei giorni precedenti ha affrontato in disinvoltura le tappe di preparazione, avrà verificato la buona efficienza del proprio mezzo, e valuterà di avere le energie fisiche e morali necessarie; sarà richiesto un supplemento di circa 50 euro a partecipante per noleggiare una guida e un pick-up di assistenza.

For those with an off-road vehicle, whether two- or four-wheeled, there is the option to enhance the “base route” with some off-road detours. The first sections will be short and easy, allowing everyone to gradually familiarize themselves with the different terrain and assess their capabilities with their feet in the sand. These detours will become progressively longer and more challenging, culminating in the epic Day 5 stage: over 200 km, approximately 150 km of which will be off-road—rocks, sand, fesh-fesh, and occasional packed sections to catch your breath. The off-road group will set out at first light, fully fueled and stocked with water, aiming to arrive by sunset—exhausted but exhilarated by an unforgettable motorcycling and human adventure. This stage is only suitable for participants who have comfortably completed the preparation stages in the preceding days, ensured their vehicle is in top condition, and feel they have the physical and mental stamina required. An additional fee of approximately €50 per participant will be required to cover the cost of hiring a guide and a support pickup truck.

La “Petit Dakar” è aperta sia alle 2 che alle 4 ruote; il percorso principale è su asfalto, quindi adatto ad ogni genere di veicolo.

Per chi vuole provare anche l’ebrezza di solcare le piste nel deserto è invece indispensabile disporre di un veicolo tuttoterreno: una auto a 4 ruote motrici, con buona altezza da terra, oppure una moto da “enduro”, preferibilmente di piccola o media cilindrata con gomme ben scolpite. For those who also want to experience the thrill of riding on desert trails, it is essential to have an off-road vehicle: either a 4×4 car with good ground clearance or an “enduro” motorcycle, preferably of small or medium displacement with well-treaded tires.

Per entrambe la tipologia di veicoli sono disponibili numerosi servizi di noleggio a Marrakech: ai partecipanti saranno fornite tutte le informazioni per poter procedere al noleggio alle migliori condizioni. Il range di prezzo varia: siamo in grado di offrire Toyota Land Cruiser a circa 130/140 euro al giorno, motociclette di piccola media cilindrata (tipo Royald Enfield Himalaya, Honda CRF 300, le più consigliate a chi viaggia da solo, o vuole provare i percorsi in fuoristrada) a circa 75 euro al giorno,  oppure di media alta cilindrata (tipo KTM 790 o BMW 850 GS, consigliabili a chi fa il percorso stradale con passeggero) a circa 100 euro al giorno.
There are numerous rental services available in Marrakech for both types of vehicles. Participants will receive all necessary information to arrange rentals under the best conditions. Prices vary: we can offer Toyota Land Cruisers for approximately €130/140 per day, small to medium-displacement motorcycles (such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan or Honda CRF 300, highly recommended for solo travelers or those who want to try off-road routes) for about €75 per day, or medium to large-displacement motorcycles (such as the KTM 790 or BMW 850 GS, ideal for those traveling on-road with a passenger) for around €100 per day.

Infine, disponibili alcuni posti sulle vetture della Organizzazione (300 Euro per passeggero). Finally, a few seats are available in the Organization’s vehicles (300 Euro each passenger).

Creatore e organizzatore della “Petit Dakar” è Andrea Leggieri, con oltre 40 anni di esperienza nella organizzazione di eventi e viaggi su tutte le strade più belle del mondo, dalla Toscana alla Mongolia. The creator and headmanager of the “Petit Dakar” is Andrea Leggieri, who has over 40 years of experience in organizing events and journeys on some of the world’s most beautiful roads, from Tuscany to Mongolia.
